About Us
My name is Delon Charles and I am a young entrepreneur from the village of Mt. Horne in St Andrew’s, Grenada. Growing up in Grenada was always an adventure. As a youth, I spent a lot of time with extended family exploring nature in our vast surroundings. I began my journey as an entrepreneur at a very young age, gathering and selling nutmeg from our mountain gardens. This small business gave me an allowance for school. These experiences, along with the positive influence of my cousin, Laurina Waldron, set me on a path to becoming the man I am today.
I began banking in 2003 through the bank’s Youth Link Apprenticeship Program. This gave participants a 7 month apprenticeship and entrepreneurial opportunity, which taught me a great deal about banking. After the program ended in 2005, I began full time employment at the bank in the financing department. I became an expert in finance, but more importantly, was able to learn more about myself.
My mantra is “All the best ideas are solutions to problems.” This is no different.
The Birth of Real Grenadian Taxi and Tours
In 2016 I was invited to a typical Grenadian cook-up by one of my co-workers. I was excited to go and didn’t think twice about it. We had an enjoyable evening which wrapped up around 2am. My friend gave me a lift into our main town, Grenville, where I was sure I would be able to get transport home. Boy was I wrong! There was no public transportation, no taxi service, not even a hitchhiking opportunity presented itself!
I was stranded!
After taking several other people home, my co-worker came to my rescue and was kind enough to return to Grenville, after 4 in the morning, to pick me up. On my way home, I recognized the need for convenient and reliable taxi services not only in my region, but all over Grenada. This was the moment that Real Grenadian Taxi and Tours was born!
Real Grenadian Taxi and Tours was established in 2017. We experienced exponential growth during the covid period in 2020, as friends and family members wanted to safely explore Grenada during this time. We followed all the prescribed protocols.
We cater for all your Taxi and Tour needs. This includes Island Tours, Airport Transfers, Hospital Runs, Private Trips, Special Events and so much more. We are a Coordinated Network Service that uses other Taxi and Tour Operators, when needed, to service the entire Island.
